What To Do...What To Do...

It’s that time of year again.  The time when the temperature is on the rise, the kids are about to be ‘sprung’ from school, and it will be no time at all until you start hearing those inevitable words: “I’m bored”.   What can you do to head them off at the pass?  Plan some activities!  Not sure what there is to do this summer around London?  Have a look below and start marking off days on the calendar…we’re here to rescue your summer!

Mini-golf, water park, arcade games, executive 18 hole golf course, driving range, go-karts, batting cages and more.  Package deals and passes available, visit their website for information on pricing.

2.       Fleetway – 720 Proudfoot Lane 519-472-9310 ~ www.fleetwayfun.com
5 & 10 pin bowling, glow golf, rock wall, sky trail and more.  They offer special pricing for weekdays and also run a day camp.  For information on pricing visit their website.

3.       The Pinery - located 8 km south of Grand Bend on Highway 21, 519-243-2220 ~ www.pinerypark.on.ca
Check out the walking and biking trails, rent a canoe, or go to the beach for the day.  You can also book a site and camp. For pricing information please visit the fee schedule on the website (day use vehicle permit is $10.75)

4.       Storybook Gardens – 1958 Storybook Lane, 519-661-5770 ~ www.storybook.london.ca
Check out the animals, rides, games, play areas, splash area, entertainment, and more.  It is really geared towards younger children.  They have special play all day pass rates available, for pricing information please visit their website.

5.       Port Stanley – About 45 minutes from London for directions click HERE ~ www.portstanley.ca
Spend the day at the beach, check out the little shops and of course pop into Mackies.

6.       Fanshawe Pioneer Village – 2609 Fanshawe Park Rd. E, 519-457-1296 ~ www.fanshawepioneervillage.ca
Spend the day in the 19th century.  They offer a variety of events throughout the summer and also run a day camp.  Admission is $7 per person.  For the calendar of events and more information please visit their website.

7.       Grand Bend – About an hours drive from London, for directions click HERE ~ www.grandbend.com
Take in the main street where you can shop and dine or spend the day at the white sandy beach.

8.       London Children’s Museum – 21 Wharncliffe Road S, 519-434-5726 ~ www.londonchildrensmuseum.ca
With 3 floors to explore, with permanent exhibits and travelling galleries, it’s a great way to spend the day with children from infancy up to age 12.  Each day they have demonstrations and events and experiments.  For a calendar of events and fees please visit their website.

Older children will enjoy a day of culture.  They offer summer day camps and teen programs.  For a full list of events and pricing please visit their website.

There is so much to do and see in London, the kids shouldn’t have time to say that they’re bored at all!  Maybe take them to a London Majors baseball game, for just $8 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under, it’s a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon (or you can take in an evening game.
